Great tips from the Tour de Georgia website, apparently for those who might mistake a seven-stage bike race for some other, more combustion engine-oriented type of sporting event:
3. Please do not obstruct the race course when cyclists and team vehicles pass. Do not throw objects into the path of cyclists. ... [This rule is a good one even when it's not a sponsored pro race, by the way.]
6. Please obey local laws and ordinances in regards to parking, open containers for beverages, admittance of pets in public areas. ...
8. Spectators are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets to watch the race; no bleachers are available for seating. ...
I can't help but worry this will all be a big disappointment for the average American, especially considering the whole race will come and go in a matter of minutes. But. It's got Lance, at least one other American star, and Mario "Lion King" Cipollini, the most flamboyant of Italian cyclists. Not to mention a whole hour of coverage on Fox Sports Net South.

Wow. According to Pepco,
In the past four years, prices for natural gas have increased 46%; oil, nearly 70%; gasoline, 60%; and coal, nearly 82%.
